Kisangani, May 8, 2026 (Infosducongo.cd). Plans for the construction of a modern commercial complex were announced on Friday in Kisangani—the capital of Tshopo Province in the northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo—following a meeting between Governor Paulin Lendongolia and a delegation of Romanian investors led by Christian Dumitru, president of a bilateral diplomatic consortium and director of the company Novaterra Mining.

“One of the priorities highlighted by the provincial authority concerns the construction of a modern shopping complex capable of meeting the needs of the population and business community,” stated Didier Fwamba, legal counsel for the consortium.

Identified as a priority by the provincial executive, this project aims to modernize the city’s commercial infrastructure and create new economic opportunities for local business operators. According to members of the delegation, the future commercial complex is expected to feature various modern retail spaces that meet current standards, with the goal of boosting economic activity within the province.
